Beacon Street

Project type

Kitchen Renovation

Date

March 2020

Location

Boston

The Beacon Street project proves that bold design choices can redefine a compact footprint. Our goal was to create a space that felt less like a utility kitchen and more like a 'jewelry box' for the home, drawing inspiration from Parisian apartment aesthetics.

The design is anchored by a dramatic two-tone cabinetry scheme: crisp, bright white uppers that disappear into the ceiling to maximize height, grounded by rich ink-black lower cabinets with shaker detailing. The pièce de résistance is the custom-fabricated range hood, accented with vertical unlacquered brass strapping that draws the eye upward.

We replaced standard tile with a continuous full-height quartz backsplash, allowing the dramatic veining to flow uninterrupted from counter to cabinet. Warm walnut floating shelves were integrated to break the stone expanse, offering curated display space. Finished with heavy knurled brass hardware and a pro-style induction cooktop, this kitchen strikes the perfect balance between classic glamour and modern functionality.
