Located in a quintessential Boston neighborhood, the High Street project represents a bold, spirited reimagining of the traditional family home, infusing classic New England architecture with vibrant coastal design. This renovation successfully balanced the need for open, light-filled gathering spaces with distinct, personality-filled private zones, moving away from standard monochromatic palettes to embrace color and texture.

The heart of the home is the expansive open-concept kitchen, anchored by a monumental center island finished in a deep maritime blue and softened by a delicate herringbone backsplash and rough-hewn open shelving. This space flows effortlessly into a sun-drenched living area, where the home’s curve is celebrated with custom-radius millwork and a fireplace flanked by built-ins featuring wallpaper-backed open shelving. We restored the classic architectural envelope—evident in the wainscoting and crown moldings—while introducing modern functionality with professional-grade Wolf appliances and wide-plank white oak flooring throughout.

Technical highlights include the seamless integration of acoustically treated walls in the lower-level entertainment suite and a spa-inspired primary wet room featuring a dramatic floor-to-ceiling accent wall of large-scale terracotta starburst tiles. The result is a dynamic residence that feels both invigorating and luxuriously practical, offering a perfect marriage of historic charm and contemporary precision.
